I can't believe another year has came to pass. It all seems to have gone so quickly. Last year was an emotional whirlwind and this year has been an adjustment period. I've pulled up a couple blogs from the past year. Here's a few highlights.
It doesn't seem like it has been 365 days ago I wrote this! The 2018 canvas has been completed! It looks pretty good to me!
Even though I began blogging earlier in 2017, I did a "formal" introduction in January. I hadn't yet solidified my plans to enter the designing world at that time. I was still in the midst of researching and deciding if this really was the road I wanted to go down. Through the next several months my post revolved around two projects Bonnie Hunter's On Ringo Lake mystery quilt and the Pleiades quilt-a-long from National Quilter's Circle. The only other post from this time period I will highlight is the one called "Broken Memories." There is no real quilting significance to it, but it makes me laugh.
I went from April to August without posting anything, but so much happened during that time. I moved into my grandmothers house and gained an awesome sewing room! Even though it was an emotionally hard decision, that alone made it so worth it. It was during this time frame I made my final decision to enter the designing world. I put my plan in place and began working hard. My first pattern was released in September. I was way ahead of my set goals! That was exciting. I was able to release four patterns in the time frame I had set for one.
This year has ended up being monotonous. Have you ever had a year that was so busy with the same things, it feels like little has been accomplished? In looking back that's how it feels.
In last years review, I ended with the analogy of a canvas. This year I feel like the painting is in black and white and last years was in bright vivid colors. I am so excited to see what 2019's painting will be. Just a few more days before the Creator begins a new work, a new year.
