2025 March Quilt Block Mania

Sarah Marcina

This years Quilt Block Mania (QBM) is going to be full of themed photo, color inspired, traditional quilt blocks. I had so much fun designing this quilt. All the fabrics are from Charisma Horton's Live Boldly Collection by Timeless Treasures.

March's design came from a "created" photograph based on a current event. My favorite fanciest drinks are water or black coffee... not too fancy if you ask me! This month is the only month I didn't have an actual photograph from. Here is my created photo for color inspiration:

Diet coke with a red, white and blue background.

Do you have a picture of a fancy drink to inspire the quilt block colors? If you want to share it on my Facebook Page, I'd be happy to help you create a lovely color palette! Every quilt has a story! Let's personalize your 2025 QBM "INSPIRED" mystery quilt to create your own quilted diary!

The traditional quilt block I chose for March is a variation of "White House." I used the fabric colors: Royal, Red, Fog, Gray and Black for my block. I really liked how it turned out!

If you want to make the entire quilt, go ahead and add a 1 1/2" strip of the center pinwheel fabric to each side for the border.

There is going to be a block for 2025 January and February themes: sports and houses. I have real pictures for those blocks and will share them. They are super fun and I love their colors. I am slightly behind because of a family situation, followed by Covid, followed by the Norovirus and more of the family situation. It's been a not-so-fun couple of months!

Sign-up to receive the block via email. You only have to register once to receive my monthly email, which includes the complimentary block download. The sign-up request is on the home page. I will also automatically send you an email with the January and February blocks when they are ready.

Happy quilting! I can't wait to see your "Fancy Drink" quilt blocks!
